Will Middlesex be the first post-1992 university to charge £9,000 tuition fees?

Straws in the wind today suggest Middlesex University may be on the verge of announcing tuition fees of £9,000, making it the first former polytechnic to jump straight to the maximum for all courses.

First, we got a private message from an academic at a neighbouring institution saying this was about to be announced.

Then we found this story in the Hindustan Times (!) citing the vice-chancellor, Michael Driscoll, and saying the same.

Then an old pal at Middlesex greeted our call with, "I'll have to put you on to Corporate Comms..."

Then Corporate Comms went all quiet when asked to confirm or deny.

So, yeah, it is a rumour. But one I'd bet on.
